About the shoppe

Who we are

The Drum Refurb Shoppe is owned and operated by Kyle Maxwell-Doherty. The shoppe was born out of love for all things vintage drum and percussion equipment. He acquired his first vintage instrument in 2013, when he purchased a 1920’s Deagan Artist Special 266 Xylophone. And since then it has been a joy to play and restore the drums of old. As a musician, Kyle has performed in esteemed New York City venues like The Blue Note, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and many other halls throughout the U.S. and Canada. He continues to be an active performer but in the spring of 2020, Kyle dove headfirst into drum and percussion restoration. He loves sending good vibes out into the community through the joy of seeing old items come back to life.

The Drum Refurb Shoppe opened its socially distant digital doors in 2020 and has quickly become a preferred seller on Reverb.com. New (or rather newly acquired vintage) items are always coming through the shoppe so keep checking back in or follow our social media to see what vintage items become available.

Some say Orange is the new Black, we like to think that Vintage is the new New!
